Hi Mrs. Green, 1. The boat the Pilgrims sailed on was the Mayflower. 2. The Indians helped the Pilgrims by telling them which berries they could eat and the berries they could not eat. Have a nice day off. Ryan
1. The boat was called the Mayflower. 2. The Indians helped the Pilgrims find food because there were no stores long ago. 3. They hunted for turkey, and today turkey is eaten on Thanksgiving.
Each week I will post five questions of the week to ask your child. The questions will be related to something your child is learning in school. Sometimes they will be questions designed to let your child "show off" their learning. Sometimes they will be questions designed to inspire conversations about school (so that when you ask your child what they did today, you will get a more detailed answer than "nothing!"). This week's questions:
1. Build a pattern for someone in your family. Cover up one of the pattern pieces and see if your family can figure out what piece is hiding.
2. If there is a fire in your house, what is the first thing you do? (get out!)
3. Why does the weather get colder in the fall? (hint: think about where the Earth is and where the sun is!)
4. Read your Ten Little Pumpkins book to someone in your family.
5. Have your family read these words to you. Tell your family what sound you hear at the end of each word.
